Behind the Northgate dome in Northriding, Randburg, this 55-hectare Johannesburg City Parks reserve wraps rolling walking paths around a central dam busy with geese and other waterfowl. Much of the ground is untouched indigenous bushveld and grassland, with a koppie that holds the remains of an ancient iron-smelting site. The park is fully fenced with a guarded gate, and regulars come to walk dogs, fish, use the outdoor gym, braai, or join the Saturday morning parkrun. Alcohol is not permitted.
