Hawston Beach lies just past Hermanus in the Overstrand, a Blue Flag pilot beach known for its clean water, sand dunes and backdrop of coastal mountains. Dolphins are regularly spotted offshore, and whales pass by in the second half of the year. The beach has an Olympic-size pool, picnic and braai areas, and boardwalks over the protected dunes, and dogs are welcome on a leash under municipal rules.
