A privately run hiking venue in the Pelindaba bush near Broederstroom, reached through the NECSA turnoff on the Hartbeespoort side of the Magaliesberg. Marked routes of roughly 3.5 km, 7 km and 9 km cross open veld and bamboo-shaded riverbank, climb to a cliff-top lookout over the Crocodile River and pass impala, kudu and nyala along the way. Entry is paid in cash at the gate, Mondays are closed and hikes must start before 11:00. A weekend restaurant, ablutions and secure parking are on site, and dogs are welcome on the trails.
Note from SitnStay: Dogs are welcome on the hiking trails; no dog fee was published. Hikers sign an indemnity at the gate, pay cash (around R80 to R100 per adult), and cannot start after 11:00. Bring your own water for your dog as the route is long and exposed in places.
