Under the Trees is the garden café inside Schäffler's, a plant nursery that has traded for over 30 years at 28 Johannesburg Road in Lyndhurst. Tables sit outdoors among the plants, and the menu runs to thin-crust Italian-style pizzas, homemade chicken pie, fresh coffee and family-recipe cakes and scones. A bookshop, gift shop and vintage store share the grounds, and an open-sided venue hosts events. The café states plainly that it is pet friendly. Open Tuesday to Sunday, 8am to 5pm; weekend tables should be booked during the week.
Note from SitnStay: The restaurant's own site says it is pet friendly; no written rules about leashes or seating areas. A resident African Grey parrot lives on the property, so keep dogs calm and under control.
