Silvermine is a section of Table Mountain National Park on the Cape Peninsula, centred on a mountain dam used for swimming with a short, wheelchair-friendly boardwalk trail around the water. It's one of the few parts of the park where dog walking is permitted, though SANParks requires dogs to be under an owner's control at all times and walked under a valid activity permit. The reserve also has longer hiking trails and sweeping views over the southern peninsula.
Note from SitnStay: SANParks permits dog walking in designated sections of Table Mountain National Park, including Silvermine, under a Level 1 activity permit; dogs must be under the owner's control at all times and may not be on the mountain unaccompanied.
