The Hatchery occupies a former prawn hatchery on a lagoon and nature reserve about 15 minutes from Mtunzini on the KwaZulu-Natal north coast. The rustic, self-catering resort sleeps up to 49 guests across simple air-conditioned rooms and a rooftop tent, with two communal kitchens, a swimming pool, wood-fired hot tubs and a braai area. Activities include fly-fishing, birdwatching and wading across the lagoon to Casuarina Island. Dogs are welcome by arrangement and can roam the open grounds.
