Areena Riverside Resort, Caravan Park & Private Game Reserve

Family resort on the Kwelera tidal river about 23 km east of East London, where the Wild Coast begins. Around 23 self-catering units span thatched rondavels, cottages sleeping up to eight, en-suite double rooms and riverside timber chalets, alongside 110 grassed caravan and camping sites with power and water, hot-water ablutions, laundry and scullery. Days fill with river cruises, canoeing, quad-bike safaris, hiking, fishing, a pool, tennis and a game reserve with resident giraffe; there is a restaurant, pub and spa too. Dogs are accepted by prior arrangement.
