Gonubie Main Beach lies on East London's Sunshine Coast in Buffalo City, a family-favourite stretch of sand that holds Blue Flag pilot status over the December-February season for its water quality and lifeguard cover. A boardwalk and tidal pools sit alongside the swimming area at the mouth of the Gonubie River. Dogs are generally welcome for beach walks, though owners should keep them leashed near the main swimming zone.
