Create Red Barn - Irene

Part ceramic-painting studio, part cafe, this red barn sits on a smallholding in Sunlawns near Irene, on the edge of Centurion. Visitors pick a piece of unfired bisque crockery, paint it with the studio's glazes and collect it once fired, while the cafe serves coffee, cakes, a light menu and a licensed bar with cocktails and wine. There is outdoor seating and a fireplace, it works for children and corporate groups alike, and visitors report that pets are welcome. Closed on Tuesdays.
