Hermanus Animal Welfare Society has operated in the town's industrial area since 1983, caring for sick, abused and abandoned cats and dogs. The NPO runs a veterinary clinic offering sterilisations and vaccinations, rescues stray and injured animals, and rehomes hundreds of pets a year through a structured adoption process that includes inoculation, sterilisation and microchipping. It receives no government funding and relies on two charity shops and community fundraising to keep its kennels and cattery running.
Note from SitnStay: Animal shelter and welfare NPO focused on rescue, adoption and veterinary care, not a commercial boarding or pet-friendly leisure venue; no visitor dog policy is stated. Likely mis-categorised as a boarding venue.
