Poinsettia Park

A 15-hectare strip of public open space running alongside the R44 in Heldervue, on the Somerset West side of the road to Stellenbosch, with two municipal stormwater dams, an outdoor gym and pathways used by walkers, runners and cyclists. Dogs are allowed, and the long, narrow layout gives a decent out-and-back walk of roughly 1.5 km each way. The Friends of Poinsettia Park, a resident committee working with the City of Cape Town, has been planting indigenous trees and restoring renosterveld across the green belt.
