An 86-hectare conservancy on the northern edge of Bloemfontein, run by the Friends of 7 Dams and reached through locked gates in Dan Pienaar, Pentagon Park, Hillsboro and Wild Olive Estate. Trails wind through shrubland, grassland and wetlands around a chain of old dams, with around 120 bird species and a stretch of critically endangered Bloemfontein Karroid Shrubland. Members walk, run, cycle and picnic here, and leashed dogs are a common sight. Access is by annual membership, with a gate code issued on payment.
Note from SitnStay: All dogs must be leashed at all times under municipal by-law; contravention can lead to prosecution or cancellation of membership. Dogs may not disturb or chase birds or other animals, and dog waste on the trails must be removed.
