A family favourite on Cape Town's False Bay coast, best known for the row of brightly painted Victorian bathing huts lining the sand, a fixture in countless photographs of the city. A tidal pool at the northern end gives calmer swimming than the open bay, and the beach sits right by a working railway station, making it an easy outing from the southern suburbs. The neighbouring cove, known locally as Danger Beach, has a reputation as an off-leash dog spot.
