Tokai Forest is a pine plantation and conservation area within Table Mountain National Park, on Cape Town's southern slopes. Streams cut through its green belts, which shelter one of the last strongholds of the endangered Cape Flats Sand Fynbos, and paths lead past the Tokai Arboretum and a picnic area. Lower Tokai's flat, shaded trails are a popular daily walking spot for dog owners, though a valid activity permit is required to bring dogs into the reserve.
Note from SitnStay: Dogs are permitted on Lower Tokai's trails but require a Level 1 My Activity Permit, as with other Table Mountain National Park sections; specific leash rules for this area were not confirmed.
