A working pine plantation and trail network on the slopes above George, part of the wider George Trails system, with routes for hiking, trail running and mountain biking ranging from about six to sixteen kilometres. Entry points include Hawthorne, Heatherlands, Arbour Road and the CapeNature office. Dogs are welcome but must be leashed at all times under George Trails' rules and municipal by-law, after off-leash dogs bit forestry workers in separate 2025 incidents.
Note from SitnStay: George Trails' published trail-use guidelines and the George Municipality by-law require dogs to be leashed at all times; after off-leash dogs bit forestry workers in 2025, the trail custodian warned repeated breaches could see sections closed to the public.
