On the northern shore of Leisure Isle, about 4 km from Knysna's centre, this 17-hectare reserve is run jointly by the Leisure Isle residents, the municipality and SANParks. The eastern side is a landscaped park with a big grassed common, a lagoon-front towpath, benches, an indigenous garden and a children's play area, while the western side keeps its salt marsh, dune thicket and forest-tree copses. Flat paved paths suit easy walking, it is open at all times with no entrance fee, and dog walkers are explicitly welcomed.
Note from SitnStay: The reserve describes itself as a haven for dog walkers. Third-party guides note that dogs should be kept on a lead under the municipal by-law, and that waste bags and bins are provided along the paths.
