Photo: Airborne Cafe FATP
Restaurant · Bloemfontein, Free State
A family restaurant on the airfield at New Tempe Airport, home of the Bloemfontein Parachute Club, where the outdoor tables look straight onto the runway and you can watch light aircraft and skydivers come and go over lunch. The kitchen does wood-fired pizzas, burgers, steaks and meat platters, with a bar and sports screens inside. Children get a playground and zip-line, there is live music on a regular basis, and visitors describe it as both kid and pet friendly.
Note from SitnStay: Visitor reviews describe the cafe as kid and pet friendly, with most seating outdoors overlooking the airfield. No formal written pet policy was found, so confirm by phone before bringing a nervous dog near aircraft noise.
