Wilderness Beach

Wilderness Beach runs along the Garden Route where the Touw River estuary meets the Indian Ocean, backed by the Wilderness National Park's dune fynbos and forest. The stretch beyond the estuary falls under SANParks control, with signed zones for leashed dog walking, while the town-side beachfront managed by George Municipality keeps dogs off the sand but allows them, leashed, on the paved walkway. It's a long, wild-feeling beach popular for walks and birdwatching.
