The long sandy beach fronting the village of Wilderness on the Garden Route, stretching for miles toward the mountains behind, with the section east of the Touws River mouth falling under SANParks control. It is popular for long walks, bodyboarding and spotting dolphins offshore. George Municipality bylaws keep dogs off the sand here to protect the beach's Blue Flag status, though leashed dogs are permitted on the paved promenade and sidewalk sections along the front.
