Bay of Plenty is a Blue Flag beach on Durban's Golden Mile, in the heart of the central beachfront. It is best known as a surfing spot, with consistent left and right breaks that have hosted international surfing competitions, plus regular beach volleyball tournaments. Lifeguards and shark nets keep swimming safe, rock pools appear at low tide, and fishing from the pier is permitted at certain hours. Parking and easy promenade access make it a popular central stop.
