ALBERT PARK

Albert Park in Durban Central dates to 1864 and was once one of the city's most active public spaces, hosting cricket matches, football and community events for decades. Like much of the inner city it fell into decline from the 1990s, and recent years have brought a municipal push to clean it up, improve security and let the grass recover. It remains a large historic green space with genuine heritage value, though visitors should expect an area still working through its revival rather than a finished, manicured park.
