Beachwood Beach is a long, quiet, uncrowded stretch of coastline in Durban North, tucked beside the Beachwood Mangroves Nature Reserve near the Umgeni River mouth. It draws far fewer visitors than the main Durban beaches, which makes it a favourite with fishermen and dog walkers looking for open sand without the crowds. Dogs are commonly seen running off-leash along the shoreline here.
